چکیده

Experimental difficulties in following the soot formation and oxidation processes in the environment of diesel engines are recognised in the high values of the in-chamber temperature and pressure and the presence of extremely reactive intermediate species. At present, optical techniques have overwhelmed lacks typical of both local in-cylinder and totalcylinder samplings, which allow a high temporal resolution but give no insight into the instantaneous spatial distribution of the soot concentration [1-3].
